Dreamland's design is an exercise in the decay of a brand. The logo is bright and clean, but as it goes through the life cycle of the brand, it is in stark contrast with the decay around it.
Thimble & Bodkin
Local designer Mecca Perry creates handcrafted aprons and home goods in Chicago. She wanted a brand identity that recognized the bespoke nature of her work while still having fun. Her aprons are, afterall, created for cocktail parties. I came up with Thimble & Bodkin and created a color palette reflective of luxury brands like Tory Burch, Michael Kors, and Kate Spade. The look and feel highlights the vibrant aspects of Mecca's work.
Spice Bottles
Spice is a hypothetical brand of flavor blends. Italian, Greek, and Southwest are the three featured blends, with the colored dots representing the spices in each mix.
Oak Wine
In an exercise that played with line quality, I decided to create a wood grain motif for a brand of wine I have titled "Oak." The grain is embossed onto the bottle, creating a subtle metallic look. Oak comes in Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, respectively.
Blink Wet Wipes
Blink Wipes are created for people who use screens and lenses regularly. The pre-wet wipes can be used to clean eyeglasses, optical lenses, computer screens, and much more. Playing on the idea of individual style, the wipes come in a series of bright colors so the user can feel like doing something as mundane as cleaning a screen can be perceived as a fun activity.
Beacon Awareness Campaign
Beacon is a fictional nonprofit aimed at promoting adoption of adolescents and older children. The main goal was to show the various emotions that come along with the complicated subject of parenting adolescences while also providing a clear call to action. Identity, print work, and a web page were all designed as part of the project.
